Jeff was born in Pennsylvania as one of five siblings.  He and his four older sisters were raised in the Roman Catholic church. After graduating from Penn State, he began working for Sprint, married, had three children, two boys and a girl, and during that time, moved his family to Olathe.

While working in telecommunications for 34 years, Jeff was ordained a Deacon in the United Methodist Church and transitioned to a vocation in serving those experiencing homelessness. He works in an extension ministry as the Case Manager at Project 1020, Johnson County's only low-barrier shelter for adult men and women.

The shelter is open from Dec 1 - Apr 1 and is in Lenexa, while Jeff's office is open year-round in Olathe.
